Wrappin' it up!

In a few days we'll be done with 1st grade and pre-K...moving on to 2nd grade and Kindergarten(yikes:))! It hardly seems possible that we've completed 2 years of homeschooling. Like others have said so well, we know that homeschooling is not right for everyone, but we want to be faithful to what God is calling our family to, for this season. We are far, far from perfection but want to continue to grow in faithfulness to the God who is always faithful!

In looking back through some pics from the year, we've experienced lots of God's grace, some difficult days, lots of wonderful days, attitudes good and bad. We've learned lots academically from the history of ancient peoples to habitats around the world. From outer space to spelling and multiplication. We've written stories and book reviews, poems and dialogues. Myles has learned to read and is picking up new words everyday. Hayley knows her letter sounds and is practicing the letters of her name. But more than any of this, we have lived life together, sinned together, prayed together, memorized scripture together. I have prayed for their hearts and they have prayed for Mommy's heart. All this I would not trade for anything!!

Coupons

I've never really done the coupon thing, but last December my sister told me about CouponSense and I decided to try it. I'm still not that great at it, but check out what I got last week for free!! Actually they paid me $.71!! The 20yr old checker guy was just a little surprised:).

Long time no blog...

Busy...I think this is the word that will describe our lives for a long time, but I love it!! I would want nothing else than pouring into these little blessings each day even when they throw up all over you in the middle of the grocery store like Sophy did yesterday(but that's a story for a different time:)). So what have we been up to besides school, swimming lessons, watching Daddy's track meets, gymnastics, church activities, etc???

Here's Sophy on the move! She's hard to get pictures of these days because she never sits still! And yes, that is a pair of someone's underwear she's holding...I'm pretty sure they were clean.

We've been spending lots of time outside before the weather gets too hot! Sometimes school, lunch, and playtime outside :)

We also did the T-bird Trot 5k and kids fun run! Daddy won the 5k in 16:30 and all 3 oldest did the whole kids run without stopping! Myles also won a free month to a kids gym.

Every finisher got their own T-bird Trot dog tag necklace-a big hit!

Where does the day go????

Up at 5:30...pumped a bottle of milk for Sophy...read my Bible...ran 6 miles...made Scott's lunch...made breakfast for the kids and I...cleaned up breakfast...helped Kyra finish her little sewing project...impromptu art project with Myles and Hayley(since I wouldn't let them use a needle like Kyra:))...cleaned up art project...got everyone dressed and teeth and hair brushed...took a shower...cleaned up the rug where Hayley had an accident...sat in the bathroom with Hayley(no luck at actually going in the toilet:()...played a short game of hide and seek with the kids...had school with Kyra(Myles and Hayley practiced letters)...made a snack for the kids to eat outside...chased a bee that got into the house...cleaned up Hayley again with potty dripping down her legs...took all the kids to Hayley's swimming lesson...back home, put Hayley down for a nap...read a story to Myles and put him down for a nap...plunged the toilet that overflowed while I was busy...cleaned the bathroom...traded off reading to Kyra and her reading to me...switched some laundry...made peanutbutter cookies with Kyra...woke up Hayley and Myles...took everyone to Kyra's gymnastics class...went home to cook dinner while Sophy is in the sling and unloading and loading the dishwasher while things are cooking...fed everyone dinner...cleaned up dinner...Scott home late from a track meet...off to care group...home at 10:30...nursing Sophy while writing this...also disciplined, changed a gazilion diapers, nursed and snuggled Sophy 7-8 times during the day, took pictures of Sophy, talked on the phone with a good friend...

Whew...and I wonder why I fall asleep on the couch feeding Sophy every night!!:)
