Our Little Man is 6!!!

Back in January, Myles turned 6! What a blessing he is! He is usually seen with no shirt, shooting nerf darts in all directions, or racing across the living room whippin' out perfect round-offs and cartwheels. Recently while Mommy was away at a women's conference, Daddy took the kids to the track and Myles ran 12 laps!! That's right...3 miles! He is also great at building and inventing things...bows and arrows out of hangers and rubberbands, arrowheads out of rocks, Lego cities, and forts. He takes care of his sisters by holding Hayley's hand and walking her into gymnastics, going down high slides with Sophy on his lap, even putting Sophy on the potty sometimes during emergencies:). He is the first one to give me a hug in the morning and the first to pray for me when I'm impatient or frustrated. We know that God has good plans for you Myles and we're so blessed to have you in this family. Lickin' the cake bowl!

It's hard to get a "normal" picture...

We went bowling with friends the week before Myles' birthday. Look at that form!! Yes he's only 6...and no one taught him to do that! He gets the bowling gene from his daddy!:)

All the bowlers!!

The girls team:)

The boys team:)

Myles wanted a StarsWars party...here he is with his light saber cake! (Kyra told me people would only know it was a light saber if we told them. Papa thought it was a train. But Myles thought it was was cool and that's all that matters!:))

A shirtless summer for Myles

Some of you may have noticed that Myles is often shirtless in the pictures I post lately...that is because he is almost always shirtless! I think it started at the beginning of the summer, or maybe last spring. Anyway, at some point he decided he was a shorts only kinda guy. I fought this at first, and then decided I had bigger battles to win:). Who can blame him really, it has been over 100 degrees for months! He still complains when I tell him to put on a shirt for a trip to the grocery store, or gymnastics, or a friend's house. As soon as we enter the car to return home...the shirt is off again! On the upside, I've probably had slightly less laundry for the last 3 months!

Let the soccer season begin!!

We had a great morning attending the first soccer games of the season! Kyra and Myles are both #7 this year, Kyra on team "Lightning" and Myles on the "Tornados."

Kyra did a great job being agressive on the field, her team won and had a great time playing together! A perfect morning for playing soccer!

Myles has been counting down all week to his Saturday game! He was ready to go! He had a great time, scored several goals, and passed a lot to his team mates. He is so much fun to watch!

Myles' first missing tooth!

When I think my Myles, I see this...

This is what he really looks like these days:)

This is his first missing tooth at 5 years and 5 months old!

Myles is a trinket man...he collects anything and everything. I'm pretty sure this will be in his collection for a while:). It's actually sitting on his dresser right now... And speaking about collections, he collected about 40 beer bottlecaps off the ground during the 2 weeks we were in Lake Tahoe(he wanted to make a necklace- Wouldn't that be a nice thing for a 5 yr old boy to wear to church? A necklace of 40 old, rusty, gross beer bottlecaps?). Anyway, they were so gross that when we got home they mysteriously disappeared into the trash...he hasn't noticed yet, but when he does I think I'm going to be in big trouble:).

Here he is... a toothless cutie!

Sweet Myles

The dentist and I do not share the same views on kids and relationships, but this situation was funny and so sweet... Upon entering the dentist's office for Myles' and Hayley's regular cleaning, the dentist was talking and joking around with the kids. He asks Myles(5 yrs old), "So buddy, how many girlfriends do you have now?" To which Myles looks around the room at Mommy, Kyra, Hayley, and Sophy, counts and then confidently anwsers "4!"

Our little gymers!

Kyra and Myles after their gymnastics recital on the big stage!

They did a great job whippin' out cartwheels, round-offs, and forward rolls like nobodies business:). Their class was so cute!

K and M with some gym/church friends.

Before the big show..Kand M with part of their class.

Silliness:)

Kyra in her 2011 gym costume(notice those new earrings:))

Myles in his 2011 gym costume-his first time in a recital on the big stage!

Our gymers who passed me up in gymnastic ability a long time ago!

The recital was so much fun! Half the performances were gym and half dance of different types. Kyra and Myles go to a Christian non-competitive gym where the teachers are awesome. All the music from the recital was christian music of different types- from point ballet to hip-hop!
